And I just died one day…

We often write only fun thing on the blog site....somthing thats happy, cheerful or informative...but for a change I am posting something that I saw a close friend experiece recently....and I stood by her side while she experienced what she wrote...

"Tears rolled down my eyes for the first time in years….and I just died one day…

I lived my life to the fullest…always laughed out loud, right from my heart. Nothing every bothered me enough to make me cranky. I was a very lively person. Taking life as it comes and making the best of everything I had. Tension-free was my life for years together. I had ample lot of friends to share my happiness with. The night brought with it the moon and the stars which made my evening glitter with joy too. Loved by my entire family and friends and surprisingly all teachers too :o). I was not the topper in the class but very brilliant and rational student.

My parent gave me a perfect up-bringing. I was independent without being roudy and proud. Very self sufficient and enterprising too. If I was to take up a task…would do it so efficiently that none could find a loophole in it :o). I made my family very proud with my achievements in personal and professional life…and managed a descent balance between the two lives too…

I loved everyone for what they were and became their best friend. People easily opened out to me and discussed their hard times. I was always able to talk them out of it and give them the joyous feeling they were longing for. Their secrets were always safe with me and so were their sorrows. Many have complimented me for my SMILE….I remember someone mailing me – “u have such a nice smile..least u can do is USE IT “ . Well I did…very generously too :o)

Late in the night one day when I was just sitting and reading a book at home…the phone rang. Yaya, its normal for the phone to ring…but not at midnight…well without any weird reaction I took the call…..and in a split second during the conversation it was all over for me.

I was in such a state of shock that my tears evaded me….
I was shattered from inside and didn’t come to terms with the reality until a long time….
It was after much pondering I convinced myself that I lost a part of me due to mere negligence…

Tears rolled down my eyes for the first time in years….and I just died…..

Often I find myself lost…and time had come to a NO-PASSING zone."

Our paths crossed

Its wonderful when you feel totally at home with a bunch of girls you've known for just 5 minutes. Thats how i feel about this bunch!!
Well am not goin to be very descriptive about each one, to hide away from the brickbats but we are def a bundle of contraditions put together and stuck together!!
We make it to dinners when we are tired and want to catch some sleep 'cos one of them comes from the capital ;o)
We remember to msg her 'cos her fav hero's movie is on TV. Its another thing that we don't approve of her fling and she callin herself the Missus.Yanyways :D
There is one who would take aeons to say a word but i think our effects are rubbing on her.Although she is no more a part of the team, it doesn't matter anymore.
Work is workship is this one's motto and she works till she burns herself. She has transformed from a girl who wears anything but salwars to jeans and she has an attitude. Mebbe it was a Switz trip that did wonders and not to mention her foot tappin :oD
This die-hard bangalorean would walk miles to find a dustbin so as not to litter her hometown. Though i grow wary of this i follow her, who wants a black eye :o((
Then there is the godmother of weddings. She taught that marriage can be fun. For better or for worse its a matter of twosome now!!
I've learnt from each of them and i hope it was two-way. I enjoy being with them and i dont pretend. They know me as i'am.
They are there when i call them to share my happiness,
They are there when i dont even call to share my sorrows!!

This is a beginning of a beautiful friendship and i hope it stands the tests of time!! Until then..

Indian Weddings....

Marriages have often made headlined in Delhi…..not for the obvious reason of 'How Grand it Was' or 'Celebrity Wedding'…but for the 'Number of marriage ceremonies taking place in a single evening all over the city'. Ha…A funny thought but its true. The max that I have read about is 25,000 marriages in a single day…

I have many a times pondered on the concept of - 'Marriages made in heaven' . If that was supposedly true then the right guy/girl must come and fall in my lap….wahi na 'Aasmaan Se Gira, Bus Mujhpe Hi Atka ;o) '.

In recent time most of us become professionals at a very young age and can hardly find time to think about hunting for a life partner. It is ones own life and he/she is the most affected….yet there are a million people involved in finding the right partner for you. Nowadays its not only your parents who are concerned, its your distant relatives…their distant relative…you friends and their relatives…your neighbors and their relatives not to forget your mom's kitty group too has a contribution to make in it. Above all these people newpaper matimonials also have their share to pay. Well this is the case when you have been brought up with the values – ‘Mom Dad Ki Pasand Se Hi Shaadi Karni Hai’…or so to term it as ARRANGED Marriage.

It’s a completely different case if you are going for the Love marriage which you have to end up arranging for yourself. First you shortlist a set of girls/guys who you are most attracted to…then check the gel-well level between you two…then the gel-well with his/her family…then the gel-well between your family and the choice one…then the gel-well between the two families….then the convincing of the strong-headed elders of your family( who will cause the much expected obstacles for the marriage to take shape) often pointing in the directions of - he/she is not the RIGHT choice for you. Once you have done all the field work and are still up and running, you need to arrrrrrrrrange this LOVE marriage.

To add to the glorification of the wedding we nowdays hunt for the most interesting Pandits. They are responsible for matching the Kundlis and telling you all the Auspicious Dates that you can choose from, as your wedding date… From this every moment your dreams and hopes start building and you start working for the actual marriage ceremonies :o).

With much discussions and re-rethinking the dates are finalised. Then the most appropriate Venue to match your social stature. With each passing day the wedding shopping trips to the market become more frequent. Your daily schedules now include running between the caterers, the florists, the DJ people and the tenthouse people who can come up with a brand new excuse to not live up to your expectations and specifications. Hats off to the tailors who take their own sweet time to stitch your clothes still make you go home dissatisfied until the very last day.

Inspite of all the running around and hurdles, the spirit of marriage is still intact. On the wedding day a few responsible youngsters are given tasks to handle and manage one ceremony each. Very efficiently they handle everything that could go and what actually wrong does. The rest of the attendees come and attend thee event and give their advices (mostly unwanted and uncalled for) about how things could be better. But they also add a word of praise to all the responsible people to make the event a success.

With a lot of pomp and show the marriage takes place :o). The couple have a glowing look on their face (the beauty parlor people are primarily responsible for the it) as it’s the biggest events of their lives and they finally are becoming one…”Do Jism Ek Jaan Hain Hum”. The panditji adds some pep to the event during the Pheras….Then after the much awaited haggling at the Joota Chupai event the bride bids farewell to her family and goes away with her groom to start a new world of their own.

To be a CODE OLYMPICS Champ..

SAP Labs India holds thee GRAND event of the Code Olympics once every year. Inspite of the busy schedules some of us manage to coax/convince their manager to let them be a part of it. Well I wasn’t able to participate in it this year but one of the Rocking Chick was able to and also be the SARKAR of it…nono she is not alone in it…she was a part of the winning team – SAPera :o) - and made some important contributions to rise as the Winners

Before any other reporter could, I was able to get Priti, one of the Champs of the event, to spare some time to write out her experience of participating and winning the CODE OLYMPICS.

Its my honor to tell u the inside story of what it takes to be a Code Olympics CHAMP, as told by the Great Miss PRITI……Read on :o)

“I never thought my dream of shaking hands with our MDs Martin and Kniese on the stage of cafeteria in SLI campus will come true so early in my first year of SAP, YES, it came to me through Code Olympics…..The day when our team SAPera was announced as thee SARKAR of 2005 Code Olympics in SLI will never go out of my heart.

Here goes the story behind winning team SAPera:
Because of late night sittings and personal attachment with office, people often used to say to me that I should make office my home and do all the things in office including sleep. So I thought I should rather try it with one night stay for the Code Olympics :-). Jokes apart I wanted to experience a feeling of working / coding and putting brains for 24hrs non-stop and also wanted to have fun and learning's with/from all other participants. With this desire I was desperate about taking part in the Code Olympics. I contacted every single person I knew, not only in CD but other in SLI, to get myself accommodated in any team. I even wasted my 10 precious minutes to write the interesting and enthu mail to CD team-4. With no responses from any side, I came to know that Mr. Rahul Tongia is also looking for some members and unknowingly forced him to take me in his team even when he told us that he doesn’t wanted to work with non-familiar personalities but due to non-availability of his friends he had to bear with me. But somehow the team was formed and we went w/o a any preparation in Code Olympics.

We had never thought that we will win, but my personal experience with this event is incomplete without mention of our members of SAPera

Captain Rahul - Smart Guy who knows how to bring world in his hand
Atul -
I have three names for him, TRUE SARKAR of our team, Bluffmaster (we learnt how to bluff with confidence from him) and founder of name SAPera (I think he is very fond of snakes)
Prashant/Parag/Mythili - Simple, Innovative, Talented respectively that matches with the values required for Code Olympics.

And Me - Well I am just perfect :o)

The team: Seated (L-R) Mythili R, Priti Mulchandani. Standing (L-R) Rahul Tongia, Prashanth Prabhu, Parag Baldha, and yours truly.

So, all in all, our team was complete to take part in the most famous event in SLI.

On the day of the Code Olympics (09/12/05) we started with the problem that was most suiting to our skills and that was Agenda Builder for tech-ed. There was very big condition that we have to do as much as possible as the problem given was very big to be completed in 24 hours including couple of hours of sleep. The night was comfortable for ABAPers as we got our systems in place and I can't forget that I also took the sleep below the table of meeting room A1R09. On the other side, bypassing all the difficulties, JAVA guys somehow managed to work on their part and by evening we were almost ready to show our solution with proper integration.
The time came when I had to work on putting one of the most important part, at the last minute, (very boring though) in our solution and that was attractive output/result data which would be the best possible agenda for a delegate of Tech-ed in front of judges. Our presentation went well. However I was little disappointed with my very less contribution this time, but finally when the results of finals were announced I was not able to stand on my feet.
Finally we made it successful application on the day of finals with excellent presentation and answers capability of our captain; this became the key to present it as best among the rest of 6 finalists. When the results were announced for 1st and 2nd runner-ups, my heart beat was twice as fast than the normal and couldn’t stop my prayers to the GOD too and to my surprise, first time ever Miss. Kavita Chawla petted on my back and told me "Don't worry girl , just Relax". And just after her words Martin announced our team name as winner of Code Olympics.

So this is how it became most exciting part of my life which I can never ever take out from my mind.

The readers are most welcome for any comments or any questions for this subject.
Thank You all for reading and spending time for my "the first" blog.
And last but not the least I Thanks Neha for nagging me all day so she could publish my experience in her blog site.”

Thanx Priti... Gud Luck with all that you get involved in and hope that you rise high in your personal and professional lives

Enjoy Maadi... !!!

P.S. - Thats not all, not only is she one of the Code Olympics Champs..She is also the winner of the 'Recognised CD Team Member' who is known for excelling in Projects she gets involved with....Hats Off to her :o)

Calvin...

I made a big decision a little while ago.
I don't remember what it was, which prob'ly goes to show
That many times a simple choice can prove to be essential
Even though it often might appear inconsequential.

I must have been distracted when I left my home because
Left or right I'm sure I went. (I wonder which it was!)
Anyway, I never veered: I walked in that direction
Utterly absorbed, it seems, in quiet introspection.

For no reason I can think of, I've wandered far astray.
And that is how I got to where I find myself today.

Explorers are we, intrepid and bold,
Out in the wild, amongst wonders untold.
Equipped wit our wits, a map, and a snack,
We're searching for fun and we're on the right track!

My mother has eyes on the back of her head!
I don't quite believe it, but that's what she said.
She explained that she'd been so uniquely endowed
To catch me when I did Things Not Allowed.
I think she must also have eyes on her rear.
I've noticed her hindsight is usually clear.

At night my mind does not much care
If what it thinks is here or there.
It tells me stories it invents
And makes up things that don't make sense.
I don't know why it does this stuff.
The real world seems quite weird enough.

What if my bones were in a museum,
Where aliens paid good money to see 'em?
And suppose that they'd put me together all wrong,
Sticking bones on to bones where they didn't belong!

Imagine phalanges, pelvis, and spine
Welded to mandibles that once had been mine!
With each misassemblage, the error compounded,
The aliens would draw back in terror, astounded!

Their textbooks would show me in grim illustration,
The most hideous thing ever seen in creation!
The museum would commission a model in plaster
Of ME, to be called, "Evolution's Disaster"!

And paleontologists there would debate
Dozens of theories to help postulate
How man survived for those thousands of years
With teeth-covered arms growing out of his ears!

Oh, I hope that I'm never in such manner displayed,
No matter HOW much to see me the aliens paid.

I did not want to go with them.
Alas, I had no choice.
This was made quite clear to me
In threat'ning tones of voice.

I protested mightily
And scrambled 'cross the floor.
But though I grabbed the furniture,
they dragged me out of the door.

In the car, I screamed and moaned.
I cried my red eyes dry.
The window down, I yelled for help
To people we passed by.

Mom and Dad can make the rules
And certain things forbid,
But I can make them wish that they
Had never had a kid.

Now I'm in bed,
The sheets pulled to my head.
My tiger is here making Zs.
He's furry and hot.
He takes up a lot
Of the bed and he's hogging the breeze.

Rocking Chicks

LET’S ROCK IT: o) - The Motto of the legendary ROCKING CHICKS.

How it started - Six girls who became the best of friends during a Team Outbound decided to still keep in touch even after the team outbound was over. Also added another of their kind from another team in their office.

Their mundane daily life (before they formed the GANG) – Morning alarm wakes them up…half awake they complete the morning chores and they take the morning shuttle to office…work all day…tired by the evening…take the evening shuttle home…almost doze off during the traffic jam breaks…. reach home and have dinner …sleep…and follow the same routine the very next day.

Still their mundane daily life (after they formed the GANG) - Morning alarm wakes them up…half awake they complete the morning chores and they take the morning shuttle to office…work 3/4th of the day….mail a million mails/forwards to the GANG….plan for a get together ( for lunch or evening)….share &*^%!#@~ jokes and info…read each other’s blog, put in their comments….tired by the evening…take the evening shuttle home…almost doze off during the traffic jam breaks…. reach home and tell their roomies/ family/other friends about the interesting topics discussed over the mails….have dinner …sleep…and follow the same routine the very next day.

I agree their lives are mundane…but they have something interesting to do in the office apart from their project work which makes their lives worth living ;o). hehehehehe.
All credit of getting these girls to getup and moving their lazy bums to enjoy life , even during office hours, goes to ME :o)
Collar Up for Meeee….Three Cheer for me!!!

We share everything that a bunch of girls can talk about and often get a lot of GYAN from the experienced and elderly members of the gang. We are as comfortable discussing our project issue, as we are discussing guys. There is no topic we have left untouched. Yet after all this we have never dared to invade each other’s privacy. It’s something thats best left untouched.

We all are awesome chicks and any guy would kill to have our company. Often other gals/guys have tried to get into our gang but we have been very choosy about who to include and who not to. We are not strong headed about it…just particular about our requirement set.

Inspite of the distance ( Bangalore – Germany – Gurgaon ) we maintain our communication/mail cycle to go on. We still stand strong and shout out our motto when we get together. We are at our best when we are together and life seems like a paradise….bed of roses…angels which have the magic stick in their hands who are there to make all ur wishes come true…witches who ride on broomsticks to reach heights ;o)

OKOK…there’s only so much I can think of right now.
You can read the rest about us…from all the comments added by the rest.

And sorry guys….cant reveal the names of the gang members…We don’t want to be flooded by emails and calls from all over the globe. But you can always catch us right here..in this BLOG :o)

CHAO….
