‘If its not value for money, its not worth it’…Most of us think that way, isn’t it.
In this materialist world we all assess not just things but people for their worth. Some people are open about this, some are not. But that’s a constant measure we have in our heads to make judgements based on the worth.
Things that are worth the time, the effort, the money are rare and few and when we stumble upon them we are all into it. But we hardly give a second look to things that don’t fall into either one of the category.
As a kid I always wondered why I had to get into a no-win argument with my dad everytime I wanted to buy something. And I struggled to make sense of him putting me through the ruff & tuff time coz I hardly ever won. Though eventually he got me that thing, but I wanted it at my terms, as my specified time. But now I feel that was all a training period, where he was making me reason with him (and with myself) if it was worth my time and/or effort and/or money.
But I didn’t realise this until recently when I started working and became independent with my spending.
The bare truth of life is that things are often over priced. Not just the luxury item, but basic things in life like food and water….not to mention air. Shouldn’t these be our birth right, we need those for survial yet thousands die of hunger, dehydration or suffocation every day.
When will this trade of basic amenities become more humane? When will this life be worth a living for every human whose luck enough to be born?
Let alone the poverty stricken, every human is running in a race, a race to be ahead of the other…a race that ends up with a dead end. They say we don’t take anything along with us when we die. We come into this world empty handed, and go away empty handed. We get an opportunity to explore every aspect of life, be it joyful times sent with near and dear ones or moments filled with disappointments sorrow and pain. To live each and every moment is true meaning of living life to the fullest. We often learn a lot from the hardships we face and create loads of good memories from the happy ones.
Don’t worry be happy……and life will be totally worth it.
Lets make our lives totally Worth living it :o)
